LP Artwork: The Hi-Lo's Happen to Folk Music

When Frank Sinatra set up his own label - Reprise Records - quite a diverse range of artists came on board and initial releases included albums by Ben Webster, Jimmy Witherspoon, Tom Lehrer, Rosemary Clooney, Juan GarcĂa Esquivel, Mort Sahl, Trini Lopez and close harmony group, The Hi-Lo's.

With rousing arrangements by Billy May, the highlights from this 1962 release include Turkey In the Straw, Careless Love and the selection included in this week's program, Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair.

There was also a companion, follow-up album entitled The Hi-Lo's Happen to Bossa Nova.
