LP Artwork: Jackie and Roy: Jazz Classics by Charlie Ventura's Band / Frank Sinatra: Strangers In the Night

For the artwork selection this week, here are two examples. One is the very rare album, Jackie and Roy: Jazz Classics by Charlie Ventura's Band, recorded and initially released in 1948 and featuring I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles.

The second one is far from obscure: Strangers In the Night which became one of Frank Sinatra's best sellers. And the cover is one of my all-time favourites, in part due to the fact that it was the first Sinatra LP I purchased with my hard-earned pocket money!

The photo was taken by Ed Thrasher during the recording session for his very good Moonlight Sinatra album (also recorded in 1966) which, sadly, was obscured by the runaway success of the hit album which rode on the back of the title song - a song which Mr Sinatra hated.
